SYNOPSIS
In this follow-up to the original multiple award-winning documentary on the great reptile culture, Herpers II again takes us across North America to investigate the culture, history, and passion of those who are avid reptile and amphibian enthusiasts. This installment in the Herpers franchise first takes us to the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center in the lush tropical forests of Costa Rica to investigate the successful conservation of tropical tree frogs featuring a few species that have been rarely filmed in the wild! We then travel to the “headquarters” of kingsnake.com and visit with Jeff Barringer who shares the history and the cultural phenomenon of the biggest reptile website in history. Then it’s a sit down with Andrew Wyatt of USARK who sheds a light on some of the proposed legislation that could interfere with the freedom to keep these incredible animals in our homes. It’s then off to southern California where, for the first time on camera, we get a personal tour of the LLL Reptile facility. Then it’s back to criss-crossing the country to visit with reptile and amphibian breeders from, among many others, Bob Clark’s amazing reticulated, burmese and ball python collection in Oklahoma City to seeing some of the most incredible bearded dragon morphs at Sandfire Dragon Ranch in Vista, California to the one-of-a-kind Kevin McCurley in Plainstow, New Hampshire and his warehouses of some of the most species diverse and eye-popping morphs of reptiles in the world! With a stronger emphasis on what concerns the average herpers in mind with this installment, it is sure to be just as loved as the original.
